I have an extra 30-40 gallon repti therm UTH. Is it to big for a 41qt sterilite? And if i use it i just hook it up to thermostat and keep the white paper on the sticky part right?

A UTH should cover about 1/3 of the floor area of the tub.

Yep, just make sure its on a thermostat and you are good to go.
