    Cloudy eye on Pied Ball
I recently received a yearling Pied female ball python that has a cloudy left eye. The other eye seems fine... nothing else seems to be wrong with her, she even ate two small rats day before yesterday.

At first I thought she was either going or coming out of the blue... but, it has been a almost a week and she ate.... so I ruled out the shed.

Any thoughts or experiences with this issue... Is that normal for pieds?

it could be a retained eye cap.

    Or an eye infection.

    Retained eyecaps aren't too cloudy.

If it has the color the eyes get when in shed, I'm gonna say infection.

Out of curiousity because I have never dealt with an eye infection ... what is the treatment like on something like that. Or how would an eye infection even be contracted?

    Usually injectable antibiotics.

I don't know if they have anything topical or not.

I ruled out retained eye caps just because it looks pretty lubricated.. the eye looks normal with the exception of a slight haze on it, you can even see movement of the "pupil"

You might try feeding a little heavier for a bit to induce a shed to see if it goes away.

Thanks... it looks some what like that, not a 100% on it.

I am not allowed to upload attachments yet so I guess posting a pic is out of the question...
