new rack and now need new tubs
so we finally got our animal plastics rack- its an economy rack but built to fit rubbermaid 2220 tubs. heres a pic of the rack now:

    http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/DSCN1526.jpg

the problem is that i cant find the tubs anywhere. the space between the shelves is 6 inches- the only tubs we have found are wither too short by about 1/2 an inch or tubs we have found online that are 6.5 inches high- so too tall byhalf an inch. I believe that the rack should be able to fit either 12qt tubs or 28 qt tubs. We can fit the rubber maid 6 and 15 quarts side by side with the lids.

There is a link on the site to buy the tubs, but i don't know if that is just one tub and so we would need to order either 6 or 12 tubs or what. I have emailed animal plastics about this and have not yet gotten a reply. If anyone has any suggestions on where i can get the tubs either online or a store that would be great!

Wal-Mart (as much as I hate shopping there) still had the tubs that should fit that. About a month ago I went in there for some shoe box tubs that I couldnt find anywhere else and they had the bigger tubs too. I do believe that the old style tub has been discontinued in a lot of areas though. That is unless they redesigned the rack.

I actually did get a reply Monday from AP where they gave me a site where i can get the tubs online. I have looked at 3 walmarts and a bunch of targets and have not found the tubs, but we will get them from the site that they gave us :D (and this rack is getting filled at the moment...right now we have snakes in tubs with lids in it...i just prefer not having lids on them.)

I'm curious as to why you went with that particular rack? With the open back and sides it would seem to lose more heat that the heaters will just have to replace. Unless your whole room is at the base temp. and heat loss is not an issue? just curious

the room is at a base temp of 75-80 degrees all the time because of the other herps in the room, i dont think there will be an issue with heating.also it is right next to the base board heater(well kinda right next to it)

i have the steralite version of this rack and my tubs hold heat VERY well. the humidity is a little low because i got the rack and tubs second hand and they have a few too many holes but my regular humidity is around 45-50% so its not that bad.

FYI holes can easily be filled with a bit of silicon.
