    UTH Temps
I have a zoo med UTH on my 10 gal tank, and i thought they were made to stay at a reasonable temp. Is between 92-93 okay? Also what is a good temp for warm and cold sides? On 8ball site i see heat tape is at 94 and ambient temp is 88. Are those numbers what each side is reading at or what? Thanks for the advice!

    Re: UTH Temps
    Ambient is the air temperature.

I try for 92 on my hot spot, 85-87 for the warm end ambient and 78-80 for cool end ambient temperature.

These are variable up and down a few degrees, some people like 94 as a hot spot which is fine too, I just try to stay under 95.

Under tank heaters are not meant to stay at any temp, they are made to plug into a thermostat so you control them that way :)

I plugged directly into the wall a zoo-med UTH recently just to test it.
It went to 118 degrees in no time at all :(
