    ? about pairing
So, whenever you go to pair your snakes, do you usually take the female out of her tub and put her in the males tub, or take the male out and put him in the females tub?

I take the male out of his tub and put him in with the female. I try to stress the female as little as possible.

I thought that when breeding it's always best to put the male into the female's tub because the male can be territorial. I think that's probably with Kingsnakes for the most part (I read up on Kingsnake breeding). But moving the female from tub to tub would stress her out as previously posted.

It can be done either way. I've done both, but tend to move the male into the female's cage.

I haven't done it yet, but I'm moving the male into the females tub. I don't want to stress the female, she's the one that has to make the eggs!

I move the males, generally. Unless there's a mess in the female's bin when I want to pair them, then I put them into the male's bin, and clean up--just leave 'em in the male's bin until it's time to swap him out again.

i think it would make the female less stressfull if she stays in one place... :)

Thanks for everyones input. Seems males in the fems is the most common way to go. I'd imagine onece the female starts developing folicols you shouldnt move her much anyways.

Another reason for this is that males instinctively roam to find females during the breeding season--so they're used to finding a female in strange territory. The females might be more nervous about a change.
