    finally falling into place.
i hatched out a baby back in april. her hatch weight was 27 grams. it took her over a month to shed. after the first month, i decided to force feed her. i did this to try and get her "going". she needed to shed and i hoped that by feeding her, it would push her in the right direction. it did. after 2 force feedings she shed. i let her sit for 2 weeks and offered food. nothing. tried again. nothing. tired all types of prey and all types of methods. nothing. she started to look skinny. force fed again. and repeat. the last 2 feedings, when the fuzzy was shoulder deep, she would kick in and swallow it on her own. good sign.

well this month i decide to change the strategy. i didn't offer food, didn't mess with her, only checked to see if she defecated, or tipped the water bowl. yesterday i picked up an ASF small hopper. threw it in, left the room. came back and she was starting to swallow. long journey but learned things along the way.

im sure many would have just said, cull her....its just a normal...or something along those lines but she ate this week and probably will next weeek so im happy.

Thank you for hanging in there and being persistent. I like to hear such stories!

Out of curiosity, what is an ASF?
