SunSpot, the rescued pastel, has taken his first rat AND FT!!!

WooHoo! Now all 8 of my snakes take FT rats!

Some may remember Sunspot, that pastel I was handed in the pet store almost two years ago that was in such bad shape. Well, he flourished more and more...but always on PK adult mice. Since he was a success story, I really didn't mind, but when he was the last mouser of the bunch it became a bit inconvenient. :)

But last night, on a whim (and because I was using up the rest of my frozen rats before the move) I offered him a thawed weaned rat. He hesitated a bit, flickering it here and there, and I thought it would be no go. But then he snatched it from the tongs with the same enthusiasm he always had!

Now I just have to see that it wasn't a fluke one time thing. :D Unfortunately, that's going to have to wait until after we're all settled in after the move. Eh, hopefully he'll be hungry enough after two weeks to take the rat again. :please:
