Re: B&W Arg Tegu breeders
Bobby Hill of http://www.varnyard-herps-inc.com/ is a well known Tegu breeder. He has always answered any questions I've had.
www.tegutalk.com is also a great resource.

Re: B&W Arg Tegu breeders
I have Blue Tegu's hatching in 19 days.
Re: B&W Arg Tegu breeders
Now isn't really the best time to buy Arg species. It is very important that they hibernate their first year so that they sexually develope correctly. At this time many breeders are starting to induce hibernation on thier stocks and you can possible reserve one and they'll ship it once it is completely out of hibernation. The best in the business of Args is varnyard-herps-inc.com They have the best stock and easiest to tame down. I even got my male Arg B&W indirectly from them and he is just awsome. Wait until March-May to buy your tegu. That is when most are up and out of breeding season trends.

Yea thanks for this info shimmer!
Re: B&W Arg Tegu breeders
If you're buying a baby, cooling is not necessary.
Talk to Bobby, he is great. If he's got babies that he says are ready to go, you will do fine.

:weirdface I'm sure Dragonballs or someone else will chime in on this if I'm wrong but not all tegus hibernate. Just because its a Arg B & W tegu isn't a guarantee that its going to hibernate. Yes it is that time of the year but I have yet to see a tegu that didn't "sexually develop correctly" or breed viable offspring because it didn't hibernate. So through out the season there are some still available may be fewer but still available. Although,..I do agree Varnyard has some of the best stock (B&W and High Contrast Reds) but there are also other breeders, and yes he still has some that are available.
My tegu Dino is 2 yrs old, sexually mature and hasn't hibernated a day in his life. At the most,..he'll go to sleep for a few days, may even skip a couple of meals but then its back to normal. He's has never been out for 3-4 months straight like some other Gus' do.
Check out the top 2 Gu sites thetegu.com and tegutalk.com and you'll pretty much get the same answer. Some do hibernate and some don't especially with people that have more than 1 Gu of the same type (or different) that hibernate.
Depending on what type of Gu you're looking for Tyler_Royality Bobby over at Varnyard herps and Tegu Talk Bobby also has a clutch of new hybrids (1st time no others like'em) available. They're the All American Tegu, its a 3 way cross between the Giant B&W, Red and Blue Tegus :gj:very nice :P my baby arrives on Tuesday :D.
Also like Dragonballs said he has a Blue clutch due in a little while here,...I'm waiting on one of those too.
Re: B&W Arg Tegu breeders
Tegu's will hibernate if and when they want to, there's not much you can do about it. Some of Varnyard's Tegu will go into hibernation in August when it's still in the 80's. Hibernation isn't necessary for them to reproduce. As far as I know, our Blue's have never hibernated. Last year we had a successful hatching and I expect another clutch in 16 days. Our male Red does hibernate for 2 to 3 months in a 75 degree room.
