    Taking them outside
I know that I have seen lots of pictures of some of you taking your snakes outside on the grass. This might be a total goof question but here goes? Can't your snake get mites out there or tics? I would guess you could see tics but the whole mite thing scares me. Just wondering...they are such great pics and the snakes look like they are having a great time.

    Thanks guys!!

There is always the chance of picking up ticks or mites, but you should be ok if you just give them a little bath or wipe them down with a wet towel. You could also treat the enclosure with Provent-A-Mite as a precaution. There is probably a better chance of bringing mite eggs in on something you got at a pet store than there is of your snake picking them up in the few minutes of being outside...

I've taken hundreds of shots outside and never gotten mites or ticks doing so.
I always wash the snake off and treat the tub and aspen, allowing the bedding and tub to dry while I'm out with the snake.
