Re: German shepherds?
LOL filly77, yeah...
I have a bi-color long haired GSD who is a service dog puppy in training. He is DDR and West German Showlines. Mostly working lines, though. He's very stable and driven, and extremely sweet and mellow (he has an off switch). He loves my son, and he's one of the finest dogs I've ever had- a bold statement as I've fostered, boarded, and lived with many dogs.
I may do some ringsport or SchH with him. I'm not sure. It'll be dependent on finances and time, since I am busy training the puppy and caring for my baby and our snakes, not to mention the house chores and my other dog.
I definitely intend to try to put a UKC championship on him (he's not an AKC style dog, plus he's a coat- long haired for those who don't know the term). I also want to do AKC obedience with him. Shouldn't be a problem.
He is currently 16 weeks old. These are from the past month:

Re: German shepherds?
VERY nice lookin GSD! I loveee the 3rd pic w/ the wild puppy eyes LOL anddd the cute floppy puppy ears!! I love the sables and bi-colored GSDs!
Apollo's coated also, I remember his fluffy puppy coat, so soft and cuddie!! (he's 5 now), Once in a while I'll get the occasional, "whats he's mixed with" or once in a blue moon someone will ask if he's a Belgian Tervuren or a King Shepherd (ugh @ kings). I just explain he's a coated GSD and keep walking lol His fur is even thicker and a little bit longer now.
Someday I will have me a (real lol) GSD, Dobe AND Beauceron with working imported lines & strong nerves. I love these breeds!! Even considered the Caucasion Ovcharka!
I love my Apollo, he is my pride & joy and super sweet on the eyes (very handsome if you ask me and most of the people who meet him lol) He may not have the drive to do the work a GSD should be doing but he is one of the most loyal dogs I've ever owned, incredibly smart and he's proven to me he has what it takes to protect me and my home. (I had to literally hold him back when some loser came to my home looking for trouble and punched thru my screen door)
I just wish he wasn't allergic to... well everything especially food, its so hard to find a food that will work for him. Hes on Taste of the Wild right now buffalo/venison and hes doing great and LOVES it!
Good luck in the future w/ your GSD, I hope you can juggle enough time to get that pup into something fun and that he was born to do!!

Re: German shepherds?
Your boy is gorgeous!
Wow, you know the Beauceron! Me too. I have shown them in ARBA, and I have a friend who had them and did French ring. She had one with fine nerves, but that is a rare thing, sadly.
I love coated GSDs... we are lucky! :)

Re: German shepherds?
I train dogs for PSA. Its a sport like ring more than Sch. I just have pitbulls right now that are competing. In our club we have a couple nice imported GSDs and even one American bred dog. I will eventually get a Malinois as I want to do protection sport as well as detection work. Right now I train explosive detection dogs but will start into narcs once I get my license.

Re: German shepherds?
I have has this German Shepard mix ever since I was 1 year old and I am only 2 months older (I'm 13 and so is he). His name is Max and he is a German Shepard x Australian Shepard. I could try to get a few photos of him.
Though, he isn't doing so well. Last week my sister (who owns him) took him to Petsmart to get his nails trimmed and when they were walking back to the car his legs gave out and he collapsed.
