    Is this mouth rot?
    Hi. my female ball python has this mysterious reddish purple thing on the lip of the mouth. she is my best feeder, and decided to not eat. the red thing has appeared with in several days. i have the flu. so i cant smell anything... what should i do?? is this mouth rot, or a bite?     im pretty sure you can only see mouth rot from the inside of their mouth, idk though...just a novice's opinion sry!

    It is partly on the inside.

    If the skin is brown on the inside of the snakes mouth than go see a vet. Looks like it could be mouth rot.

    i woke up this morning, and i found it was worse... the roof of her mouth is purply reddist, and that spot is bleeding... i am now going to take her to a vet...:tears:

    Also... i have totaly quarintiened them off. i scrubbed the cage down, and the cage furniture, and replaced the bedding. i have also increased the heat a little bit. will tis prevent my other snakes from getting sick?

    Hi,

    It depends on what it is and if your snakes are in close contact.

    If they are in the same enclosure and sharing a waterbowl etc then obviously that is a big risk.

    Do you feed live or defrost?

    Good luck at the vets and I hope it is something easily treatable. :please:
