    Incorrect humidity
Just curious, what happens when you do not have the correct humidity level in your Blood python cage? I hear that they NEED the correct humidity level, but I don't know what happens if it's too low.

So they just randomly get RI if it stays too low constantly?

Just randomly? Their lungs dry out, then they begin to crack like your skin does on a dry day. It's quite horrific.

Wait, we're in the blood python section? Man I'm in the wrong section...

Well now you know what happens to ball pythons in low humidity conditions.

Actually, if your cage is clean, and your animal is healthy, Blood Pythons can be kept in the 70 to 80% humidity range with no ill effects, maybe even a bit higher.

You can keep them as low as 60% humidity but you need to make sure they're not stressed and comfortable in every way.

Too high like said and you can get mold and funky smelling cages. Scale rot is always an issue as well, but clean cages can keep that at bay.

Too low and you risk RI's, it just dries they're lungs out.

I keep mine anywhere from 65 to 75% at all times and my animals are just fine.

Seems like the trick is with these guys and they're humidity is, big water bowl, and ensured ventilation so the air inside the cage doesn't get all funky or stale.
