Ok, maybe a 32 qt tub is too small..
So, after seeing if all of Candice's items fit into the tub, nothing really fits well. The hides seem a bit too close, and there is no space for the water dish. Candice also seems kind of big for it, since she's 3 feet long.
I was thinking of just putting my male in there, just because it'll last him a long time and his items will fit in there. What quart tub should I get for Candice if she's 3 feet long? I would like to know a size tub for an adult just so I won't have to keep upgrading her each time she grows out of it. Plus, I have a 10-20g Zoo Med UTH that I plan on using for the tub, so should I just put that on the tub that I will keep Monty in and just get a larger one for Candice that fits her tub perfectly or would a 10-20 gallon UTH be ok?
Thanks,
Tiff

you could use a 41 qt if you need something bigger than a 34. Do you know how much she weighs? She should be able to fit fine in a 34 if shes around 3 foot

The joy of tubs is needing only one (if even that) hide. Try it with just one hide & the water dish & snake should all fit nicely. ;)

I don't have a gram scale yet, but I'm hoping to get one sometime soon.
I'll probably just go ahead and get that 41 qt, I don't really want to keep on upgrading. Hopefully that 32 qt will last Monty a long time too.
Would a 32 qt tub last a male BP his entire life, or would I need to upgrade it to like a 34 or larger?

But wouldn't the snake need to thermo-regulate?

Yes, and they will. If you have a deep rack you can get away with not giving them hides, but I gave up on this recently since my adult male wasn't doing too well and my girls seemed a bit stressed. So I have a hide for each of them and they still thermoregulate. Mind that I also use unprinted newspaper as bedding and it doesn't really fit so I put a decent bit of the extra in the front so as to darken the whole space so they kind of wind up in one huge hide.

They do. They move it around as they want to. It's annoying for us, but they do it anyway.
Also, because the tub is so well enclosed, it could still feel safe thermoregulating outside it's hide on the other side of it's tub if it needs to.

Tubs are opaque & they offer the added security because of this. In tanks (as my 1st BP was) he was always hiding; not so once he got his tub. None of my adult males even use their hides after a few months of non-use I took them out. 32s are perfect for adult males and all but the biggest girls. 42 will work nice for your big ladies. Some of my girls do- they will move the hide where they want it.

I have grey opaque cb70 tubs. I still provide one hide on the warm end and use newspaper as substrate. That allows them to usually get under the paper if they feel
they need extra hiding. But with an opaque tub I really think I could do no hides and probably still be fine.

Also I am using 32s and I think my male is about 1800g.
Until you decide to breed I would say the 32s are best, then upgrade to 42s for your breeder females.
