Anyone here uses Adobe After Effects?
I've been wanting to take my art in a different direction and I came across some videos of special effects made by Adobe After Effects. So I was wondering if anyone here uses or have used the program, if so is it worth getting? And how easy it is to use?

I used it for a few weeks. You need a crap load of RAM, and it'll be hard to use. I didn't get that program at all. It's worth it though, if you get good tuts and know what you want.

Hm, sounds like it'll be an interesting challenge, however I don't think my PC could handle it. My computer can barely handle Adobe Bridge.:O

After Effects = amazing. I don't know what kind of art you're into, but for motion graphics, AE is the program you want to learn.

Lynda is a great place to start and get going with it.

And then VideoCopilot is one of the best places to get tutorials and resources.

Awesome! Yep, motion graphics is something I'm getting more interested in, and is something I at the very least want to be familar with.

    Thanks

AE is a pretty amazing program.

I put together my Demo Reel back when I was in College with that.

Some pretty powerful tools in that program, but as been stated, takes a good chunk of memory to run nice and smooth.

I've used AE for years, and it is an amazing program. But don't get sucked into one solid program, make sure you branch out to others to produce what AE doesn't support. Such programs are :Autodesk, Inferno, smoke, flame, and flint.

All of these programs will help you create intense pieces. Enjoy, GL, HF.:)

Ah man! I just found out that the program needs atleast 1.0 gigs of RAM to run. My PC only has 500 MB.
