Do all mojave X mojave leucistics have a grey head?
I have 4 mojave eggs hatching and one of the eggs is leucistic. The head isn't out yet, but from what I can tell there is no grey on the head at all. Is this possible or is my light mojave female a crappy lesser??

How long does it usually take? I seem to remember seeing hatching pics where the grey is already developed... Trying to remember where I saw them....

They are usually born with the grey heads and even a white eye strip. And the grey actually gets lighter as an adult, and the develope a dirtier off white look along the back. If it is born without a grey head it is possible that it is not a super mojave. Do a search and you will find hatchlings on this site.

This is a GOOD thing, that gray wash is part of what make Mystic Potions so neat & other crosses can bring a more lavender hue to this. Just a thought. ;)

If it is a Super Mojave, it will probably end up looking like this.

The BEL is just starting to stick his nose out - I'll post a pic in a bit. So far no gray at all. Bright white...

So, do I question mom being a mojo? She is very light, but has typical mojo markings. Here she is with the father....

Fortunately, yes. I like the color in the super mojos, because it's one of the few BELs that isn't a dead end. There is still eough there to add other mutations to and have the combo show up.

I like the grey head and that is why I planned the breeding. I can't wait for this clutch to crawl out of their eggs.....

He has his head out this morning. There is the slightest hint of purple and a faint eye stripe - pretty cool!

The other 3 eggs are still a mystery....;)
