I live in Florida yet I need to raise my humidity

So yeah. I have an ARS 7030 rack and the humidity in the tubs is 44% or so on average according to my accurite. Even with the water bowl on the warm side. I use newspaper as substrate.

I keep the rack in my room. Should I just buy a small humidifier? Switch substrates? Which I really don't want to do beacause newspaper is free and Aspen or cypress or coconut husk cost money).

well i use cocosoft coconut substrate and its VERY cheap, a 5 dollar bag will last a while because you just takeout the small patches that are soiled and replace, they hold moisture very well, i have a 30 gal, and you dont need to line the bottom just like under the hides, or sparatically around the rack, basically just douse the husk before you put it in and it keeps moisture well, get a spray bottle and mist once a day and you should be great

I added reptile terrarium moss (just a handful) and my humidity went up 12%

I do have a decent amount of cypress and coco husk mix that I have left over after I switched to just news paper. So just adding a small handfull of it to each tub may solve my problem? Sounds worth a shot.

I actually have like half a large garbage can full of the mix that I could use instead of the newspaper. I'd just have to bake it in the oven to sanitize it.

May have to try both and see how it goes.

Are your snakes shedding in one piece? If so I would not worry about it.

Most of the time yes but I've had a few bad sheds. I'd say 85-90% are good.

Ok I know this is an old post, but Ive got a ARS 7030 rack and the temps are just fine, but humidity is really bad. Having a lot of bad sheds here recently. I use Aspen shavings for bedding. The water bowl is fixed so cant be moved. I do mist, but not daily...I would say once a week or when I see themgo into blue.
