Odd colored normal or ......... ?
I've fallen victim to the "is my normal ball python something special?"

I picked this girl up yesterday from a private owner. They acquired her in 2003 as a baby, didn't specify CB/CH/WC. She is 6 years old, 1800 grams.

Sorry for the picture quality, my camera is a piece of junk. The last picture I set her on top of another female I have. It doesn't show up well in the pictures, but where they are normally black she is a creamy brown, almost a coffee + cream sorta color. Then her sides are lighter brown.

Normals can come in a variety of shades of colors, and can have a numerous amount of blushings. You do have a normal, it just is more of a creamy colored one rather than a plain brown and black one.

Also, do you have that snake housed in the same room as your other snakes? If you do, I highly recommend quarantining for at least 3 months. It's just a precaution so the snake does not spread any parasites or diseases to your other snakes. You also shouldn't let that snake come in contact with any other snakes you have because that can also very easily spread any parasites or diseases the snake may have.

And since the snake is new, do not try handling her for at least a week just so the snake can get used to its surroundings and so the snake does not become even more stressed than it already is. Taking it out and putting it with another snake and handling it will cause the snake to have a great amount of stress.

She's in my "QT" room where she'll stay for the next few months.

If it is a female and you only paid $20 I would be worried about that. Why would someone sell a good female of that size for that cheap? Just my opinion on that. I would get it checked by a vet asap just absed on the price and honestly I would ahve passed on it only because I would be terrified it was sick.

It was a private owner. He had no idea the value. He also didn't know the sex. It was his child's pet and the child had grown tired of it and wanted a guinea pig. A fecal sample will be taken to my vet, no worries. :)

She's already lounging on top of one of your snakes, I don't think I'd bother with QT now...lol. Kinda defeats the purpose.

    She's pretty, very light.
