    Heat lamp question
Well this isn't quite related to ball pythons but i was wondering how much heat a 50w heat lamp creates vs a 75 watt lamp, Im looking to get a Zoomed Basking UV light for the turtles im getting and I read that to much heat can cause problems for young turtles. The light will also be pretty close to the basking are since its one of those floating docks, and I want a pretty high water level. I could set the light off set, so its not directly above but idk how well that would work.

I would personally go with the 75w. You can always turn it down with a rheostat.

good point... lol. im running tight with outlets lol, it seems theres never enough. im gonna need 1 for the light one for the filter and one for a water heater when winter comes... (luckly i have this thing that turns 1 into 3) plus my ball's stuff is running off like a 8 or 6 plug extension thing on the other side of the room. I have a feeling ive raised our power bill. :D

You can also get lamps from Petsmart for like 2 bucks more that have a dimmer on them :) I use that for the beardie.

hmm. ill look them up. I already have a smaller lamp shade thing that i got with my tank. I think i actually might go with the 50w becuase i have a 75 watt for my ball and it gets like 90+ sometimes and thats like 17 inches below it. the turtle basking area wont be near that far and they need it slightly cooler than that.

hmm... idk mines gotten up to like 95 but it might be because i have foil on top of the screen top. thats the reading on the acurite but its not all the way on the ground, its up alittle bit on a hide.

Mines got the foil and the foam core, and my house is at 80. But my accurite is at the bottom of the tank too, so theres prob a few degress diff. Got me worried there that my accurite might not be so...accurate. haha
