    Need a mentor!!!
I have very little experiance with hot herps and need some one to tell or show me how to hold and care for hots. I have been studying colobrids the my whole life. I the closest I have ever come to a hot herp was a timber rattler in bath new york. I have already educated the public about reptiles but I want to raise my knowledge aswell as the public about all sorts of reptiles. The first snake I would like to aquire is a trans pecos copperhead. I have enouph general knowledge of many venomous speices so all I need to know is how to handel hots. I live in New York but I am willing to travel the distance.:D

finding a mentor is the best way.. but if you live in new york im sorry to say i dont think you will be allowed to keep venomous snakes they are illegal in new york and as far as i have heard they do not give out permits. you may want to check with your local fish and game to be sure before you get anything.

Your best bet is to check first with your F&G dept., and the internet is a great tool for research.
