quick Q about shed

my baby anaconda has had her eyes in blue for about 5 days now. anyone have the same thing with theirs, or should i visit a vet?

i keep retics, boas, and bps, and none of them go more than 2-3 days fogged.

just lookin for some advice.

Sorry no help with the 'conda

I've seen it vary, my girls eyes usually stay that way for about 3 days or so. I'm not sure of what the actual cause is, but at first they were barley blue, then gradually got more blue, then they faded out and back clear. Just make sure your temps are in the high 80s(87-89) and the humidity is above a minimum of 50% which it should be 60% around shedding.

Yes Pat I am alive!!! i was getting harassed on my myspace so i had to delete it. my girl bought me a conda for me birthday. YAYA!!! 9-11 baby!!! other than that im workin on freein up some cash for the boa, but its slow goin. i can send a couple payments, that would be easier.

yeah everything is up to par. i have a contained room set at 80 degrees. plus humidity is always around 60 in my neck of the woods anyways, i bump it a little bit while they're in shed.

I wouldn't stress it then, sometimes they can go in shed longer then others, i've seen it happen.

How is your girl doing?

she is doin good. she just hasnt fed since she has been here. i have tried every trick in the book, but im still optomistic. live rats and mice have been offered. frozen. pregnant eveything. rabbit babies. i am just waiting for her to just get super hungry and take. she has already bitten me a few times but she is getting better with handling.

if you have any other tips let me know.

You need to try a chick. I will almost guarantee she wou ld take it

It's not very uncommon at all for anacondas to having issues starting on food. In the wild they eat bird type prey as babies.

How long has it been since she was born, or since she last ate? I hate to recommend assist feeding but, i've never come into one that will not eat once assist fed. If you have any experience doing it, use a fuzzy, if not, try to call some of the local pet stores and see if any of them have any experience. Most yellows i've seen need to be assist fed to start, and after that they're good to go. Some may require it a 2nd time, but that's usually it. Keep my posted on her progress.
