    Handling Question
    Hey everyone,

My sisters just picked up a baby normal this weekend at the expo. He's got an awesome temperment and it made me curious about something. I know the guideline is to leave a new BP alone for a week + two days after feeding, but it is proving to be extremely difficult for me to convince my sisters of this. When they have him out he seems perfectly content. He doesnt go cruising around. He just wraps around their wrists and becomes a living bracelet while they sit there watching tv. Seeing as how he seems totally relaxed could he be an exception to the general rule? Or are they possibly causing him harm?

Well how old are your sisters??????

    Has your bp eaten yet?

Really, you must give it a couple weeks and make sure it has eaten 2 or 3 times before you handle it, because otherwise it gets stressed out and problems could ensue.

I know it sucks, and it's tempting. Right now I am in the process of quarantining my new bp, and trust me I want to handle him as well. Just tell them that their patience will pay off in the long run.

Doesn't matter if the bp is calm or not. Whenever you purchase a new snake you need to let it be for a week, to get settled into the surroundings. They can be stressing him out even though he's not showing any signs. So I would let it be for a week, feed it, wait 2 day's, then they can handle. No need to wait a few weeks.
