    A Pastel For Me
I went to the Raleigh convention with hopes of getting a good deal on a Biak Green Tree Python, but all of them were overpriced.

It's okay though. I fell in love with this male Pastel, and I think that the Ball Python-bug has hit me. This is my first Ball, but certainly not the last. He needs a female tankmate and I am leaning towards a Spider.

I hope you are not talking about housing underweight male and female ball pythons together?! Let alone housing two of the same sex...

As soon as the male is capable of producing sperm they could copulate and the female could become gravid too early, stunting her growth and causing her to slug out.

They could also try to dominate each other for the ideal hotspot in the tank.

Snakes and most reptiles are solitary and should not be housed together. In the wild, do you see two two lizards running around together holding hands? No.

As a keeper, you should try to provide the best husbandry for your animals.

NOTE: I am not trying to attack you, just trying to warn you of housing two animals together.

NOTE: If you were not even planning on keeping both togeth, sorry, but I mis understood you but this post can help other herpers who are planning on keeping two reptiles together.

    Hope this helps,

No, I was not planning on keeping the two together.

Where did the "underweight" comment come from?

I do not think you were "attacking" me, but your comments did come off kinda strong. I guess I could have worded my post a bit differently (I see where I said tankmate, I actually meant just "mate". My intentions are to get a female and breed them at some point.

With that said, I will continue lurking.

    He's a cutie.
I've got a normal male as a pet, and really want to get a pastel and some other morphs next summer to eventually start breeding.
I'm really loving the peek of white belly and the blushing. 8]

Congrats! :gj: He's really cute. I'd definitely go with a spider female. Good luck! :)
