So, I bred my Ember Het Hypo male to my Ember Het Hypo female, and saw no breeding action at all. The Ember male has been a bust so far, and has not carried his weight:) So, this year, I decided something is better than nothing, so backed his lame butt up with my Ghost male. I got four good eggs from the Ember Het Hypo female, and hatched out two Embers, and two Ghosts. Both Ghosts look like really nice Ghosts, and look alike, but the two Embers look different. One is orange, one is more yellow.

Could the orange looking one be a Super, and the Ember male did the job? Could the orange one just be a stunning Ember? Could the orange one actually be an Ember visually showing the fact that it is a Het Hypo too, or is it a Hypo Ember? I am not really sure....

    Dave

The bottom one looks like it is displaying the ghost gene.

Right, the bottom is a Ghost, but what about the other two?

    ... So what's an Ember?

I'm sorry but it seems like forty new lines have popped out of the woodworks in the last 5 months

I'm also wondering what an ember is. The babe you call a normal ember looks like a normal to me.

Can we see pictures of the ember parents?

Ember is another morph that Dave has been working with, similar to his sulfurs if I remember right. I'm sure he'll fill in the blanks for everyone when he comes back around.

The Ember is another line of Genetic snake that I bought at a reptile shop in about 01. It could very well be a line of Het Black Eyed Lucy, or could be something different. The two females I bought that day were the Sulfur female and the Ember female. The Sulfur female we bred to a Mojave Het Hypo-Eric's snake, the Ember female I bred to a Ghost. Back in the day, we thought they might both be a simple recessive Hypos.

The Ember's do look similar to Sulfurs but seem to look better as babies, more yellow. They have odd head markings and a clean belly, pretty easy to tell from normals when you see them in person. The adult pair I produced from the original female in 05 still look more yellow than I thought they would if they were just a Het Black Eyed Lucy. Who knows. This year I produced 6 Embers from two clutches. 5 looked similar, one stands out, the orange one. I am trying to figure out if the orange one is a Super, just a nice example of an Ember, if it is visually showing a "marker" that it is a Het Hypo, if it is a Hypo Ember-don't think so.....

http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/r...l/IMGP3235.jpg This is a pic of the other three Embers I produced this year. These were from 05 Ember Het Hypo male bred to a normal female. The orange looking Ember and the Ghosts along with the Ember in the first pic was produced by either Ember Het Hypo male bred to Ember Het Hypo female or Ghost male bred to Ember Het Hypo female.

Not sure if this link will work, but this is a Pastel Ember. Unfortunatly, it did not thrive and died about 2 months after hatching. Well, it did not work, maybe one of you computer genius types can fix it:)
