Why wont both of my pythons go into their warm side hide and just wrap themselves between the hide and tank wall?

Re: Hides Question!
I know my ball python had trouble finding the entrance the first time so I just helped him find it by placing him down with his head near the hole and he went in. Now he has no trouble finding it. Maybe thats whats going on with yours? lol you never know :D.
Also, maybe your hides are too big? It could be pressing itself against the glass and hide so it can feel something on both sides of it.

Re: Hides Question!
well i use a dimmer and a thermometer to try and keep the temp in the low 90's.. i had figured they did that to feel more snug/secured but the hides are not that much bigger then they are and are relatively low so i dunno man

Hi,
They are in seperate tanks aren't they?
If you put the probe inside the warm end hide it reads 90f?

With the probe taped to the glass tank is just reading the temp on the glass...you want to read the temperature inside the hide...put the probe inside the hide, probably the hides are too hot...& remember hatchlings & juveniles don't need much heat as adults so they do best in 85'F...
