I Need Dimensions

Ok I am going to build a 16 qt rack system out of the #1644 tub my plan is 1 tub per row the dimensions for this tub is 16 5/8 "L × 11 3/4 "W × 7 " H so im guessing 12"W × 17"L is this right? also im going with 3/4" melamine but what should the sides measure im guessing 47 1/4".

Based on what you wrote, I assume that your going for a 6 tub rack? If so 47.25" will work, but I would go with 48.00" or 4 feet.

I am pretty sure that you can find a couple of 4 foot melamine boards. it would save you a cut and give you some "wiggle" room.

When you put your rack together. Cut your top piece to size and attach your two sides.Then cut the remaining shelves. Now, Instead of attaching all the shelves at 7" intervals, I would lay down your first tub and place a shelf board on top of it. Secure this board and lay down the next tub followed by a shelf board. Secure this shelf board and continue like so. Constructing the shelves in this manner will insure a perfect fit.

hmmm... Maybe a sheet of peg board would work, 1/8" or 1/4".

All you need is something to cover the back and act as a shear web. It doesn't have to be thick.
