grr humidity!!

alright i have a humidity guage and temp guage on both hot and cold side of tank,

cold side stays round 70-80
hot side stay round 85-92/93

but i have a screen top and the humidity is a terribly hard to keep above 50 percent, i mist ALOT to keep it at 50 but i cant get it to that 60 mark thats it needs to be, and if i do its NOT FOR LONG AT ALL

any tips?

First off get the cool side to stay at 80 at all times. 70 is going to give you problems down the road with sick snakes. with temps that low humidity should be last thing your worried about.

Dont use the gauge meters, those things are very inacurate. Get digital ones. :)

There's a few methods you can try...

Some have suggested covering a good portion of your screen with aluminum foil.

I used to put a damp towel on the screen, covering about half of the screen, every morning and it increased humidity a very good amount.

If your using heating strips at the bottom of the hot spot, you can place a big waterbowl on it. If theres any room for it. Anyway, you should keep the original waterbowl, so the snake houldnt have to drink "hot" water...
