If you want a 100% Hatch rate, then yes an incubator is needed.. If you dont mind the chance of a few dying then no you dont need one.. Considering how small ball python clutches are wouldn't you want every snake possible to hatch out without any risk?

she can, its called maternal incubation. You have a better chance of getting 100% hatch rate using an incubator though.
