    Stuck Eye Cap
Ok, usually my snakes have GREAT sheds and I never have problems with this but I guess it had to happen sooner or later. My one bigger female has part of her eye cap still on. I soaked her for a couple of hours the day I noticed and was able to remove some of it, but it tore and didn't come off in hole. So should I do this again, and if I can't get it off and next shed comes around will that remove it or just make it worse?

It should come off on the next shed. Just make sure the humidity is bumped up as soon as you notice the shed cycle.

I would give it another soak for about 15 or 20 mins in warm water and see if it takes it off. If not don't worry, it will prolly come off in the next shed. Most horror stories are when the eye caps dont shed off after a few sheds.

ooo ok, cuz I had this happen before but I was able to remove it without a problem after the soak. Its weird too cuz its just a small little chunk so removing it is going to be tedius. Thanks for your help guys much appreciated!!:gj:

I've read about guys putting their snake in a damp pillowcase for half an hour.

them moving around in there will rub up against the eye and wipe it off. otherwise , just leave it 'til next shed.

I soaked her for a few hours last night again, but i couldn't get it to come off. Its just a small piece and its not very thick looking, almost seems like a layer came off while she was shedding but just not the whole piece. In what instances does a stuck eye cap cause a problem for the next shed? I just want to know why I shouldn't be worried, cuz I keep reading if you leave it on, it can cause a problem.

when my snake had eye caps (her eyes were grey), i soaked her but it didnt come off (i didnt use towel trick), so i just had the vet do it. but man i was dumb LOL.
i see that pillowcase idea working perfect. if not, just soak her, and use a wet cotton swab to rub her eye (applying no pressure) thats wut the vet did

and when i left my snake with eye caps it didnt eat. but as soon as they came off, my snake took a meal, and has never turned back
