I was just taking my normal BP out of the tank when i noticed a small bug on the glass I then moved around the substrate and noticed some of these bugs moving around now i remember back when i was alot younger 13 years old I had an iguana with mites they were red and black the bugs in the tank were weird I currently reside in my grandmothers basement for another 2 months and im not sure if the bugs are from the basement and they are just taking up residency in the substrate or are they mites. I checked my snake and didnt see anything on him I also checked my other tank where my other two babys are and there is nothing on there. Maybe i need to just clean the tank out. the substrate i use now is jungle bark something like Exo Terra makes it someone help me out

Put him on paper towels to monitor this better.
Chances are, you have mites. And need to get Prevent-A-Mite or PAM and use it on the enclosure as directed. It should kill the bugs if they're mites or not.
I would also advise changing substrate types or brands, or permanently switching to newspaper or paper towels.

Took the snake out put it on a paper towel and not a thing on him ...like I said before I am in a basement .... any other substrate besides newspapr and paper towels what about aspen

Aspen snake bedding is the best reccommeded subtrate for snakes and other reptiles. Newspaper is great because its cheap and very easy to clean and replace. Cypress mulch and coconut shreds also work well for snakes and hold humidity. Be sure to avoid using pine or cedar. These have excess dust which is toxic and will kill your snake. Hope this helps.
