    Jakes boo boo!!!!!!
Hey guyz~n~galz. I got a BP listed for sale a couple weeks ago from the local CraigsList...Anyway at the time I got him I noticed he had what looked liked a boo boo!! But I thought he was getting ready to shed so just thought I would keep an eye on it and see how it looked after he shed. And he finally shed tonight and this is what it looks like!! I suspect maybe a burn, from the person I got him from, but I dont know for sure, what do you all think? and what would be the best thing to do? Do I need to take him to a vet, or use some kind of home remedy..Anyway here are the pix...TIA

Here is also a pic of the shed. It almost looks like there is some of his pattern stuck inside the shed...

Also might mention that he fed immediately after shed, and doesnt act like it hurts whenever the spot is touched!!!

I would take him to the vet, and take that piece of shed with you.

It does look like a burn! Probaly from a heat rock or to close to a lamp! I think he will be okay since it has not gotten worse. I would call the old owner and see what happened and what he did about it! If he can't give you a good answer than take him to the vet but the old owner might of had it looked at and you could save a trip to the vet.

if it seems to not be painfull for him then it will heal eventually. we just got a rescue ball python that got burned a while a go...you can still see the exact spot of the burn, but the scales grew back just fine.

I too adopted a ball from a friend with a burn. His previous owner had put unprotected heat lamps in the tank. She took him to the vet the first time and was given burn cream and antibiotics. I had to soak him daily and apply the burn cream to the infected area every day. He was on antibiotics/burn cream for 2 or 3 months.

I would get him checked out by a vet. The burns look pretty fresh still. Mine had 3rd degree burns. Also when mine shed the first couple times after the burn he bled from the area of the burn...poor baby. It made it difficult for him to shed in one piece. He is doing really well now and his scales are growing over the white burn area.

That wound makes my whole body cringe. Take him to a vet.
