any ideas on what this could be still eats and that’s normally most of the time but every now and again when it’s definitely not shedding. Pushing its chin and face into the bark and then sometimes open the mouth headshaking like there’s something stuck in its mouth, but I can’t see anything

A backup thought was seizures but I don't think that's it. More will arrive for help!

That's how my neonates acted when I assist fed and I'd managed to push their meal just past their jaw. Might be a piece of substrate in that spot causing irritation.

Is this happening after certain events? Like only after they eat? And how often and how long has this been going on?
It's a bit difficult to see, but it looks like the glottis may have been a bit irritated or swollen looking...

It may not be a bad idea to look into a reptile vet in your area. There doesn't seem to be any off color or excess mucus, but again it is a bit difficult to see. It could be the start of an infection or maybe an injury while feeding. A qualified vet may be able to get a better idea of what's up with an up close and personal look

How long has he been doing this? He doesn't seem to be in distress. So, I would just monitor it for now. If it continues and you can't figure out the cause, then I'd take him to see a vet.

I'd want a qualified vet to look a bit deeper (in his throat) as it seems like something is stuck there...maybe a bit of substrate that failed to go down with a meal? He could use some help. >>>
