Ball Python Loose in Jr. High Classroom
    http://www.wishtv.com/dpp/news/local...high-classroom

To the OP with a post about his snake being loose riight now - HERE is your example of the media taking something like this and running with it. In this case the classroom is not to be used until the snake is found! Also, read all of the ignorant comments about the story at the bottom. The article and the comments should be all the convincing that you need to get a locking cage. For $100 you can get a 20L locking critter cage and I once found a 40G critter cage at a yard sale for $40. I highly recommend getting something along those lines.

These kinds of comments infuriate me. Attacking and killing kids? A ball python??? People have no clue what they are talking about. I hate all these extremely negative views toward snakes. Why can't a class have one for education? Why is it so horrible? People act like a python= a death sentence for kids.

The article isnt bad but the comments are annoying and get my blood boiling. I hate how uneducated people are. Just because we done know about something were afraid of it and it must die... sad just sad. I think itd great that teahers have animals in the classroom, helps childeren learn and not perpetuatr silly fears like the commenters have. In my middle school science class we had cockatiels, chinchillas, god I know there was more, just cant remember, bet no one would ever complain about them, but i know first hand a bite from a cockatiel is worse than a bp. As much as id like to educate some of those commenters with my fist i know that doest solve nething.

This kind of crap just sickens me to death! I am so tired of all the negative press that snakes get all the time. I am not even going to bother to comment because it will just be followed by ignorant and uneducated people with their BS comments.

Loved the comment about how they should stick to reading books instead of seeing and interacting with the real thing. Come on people! Because I would rather have a teacher talk to me for an hour about a picture in a book or have a teacher hold the example in the front of the classroom. So much for trying to make school fun and interactive.

Bruce, I couldn't see your comments, I am assuming they were removed. Sounded like they were good though lol. Ignorance is so sad. The news report was quite good, but some of those comments, omg!
