Corn behaviour

Hi all, had my corn snake for 8 months now. Just a normal Amel corn. She’s an absolute beauty. Just a strange one though. She’s in a 4x2x2 viv, full of branches, leaves and hides. On an evening she’s so active in her viv, wonderful to watch. Only thing is though, she hates when I put my hands in there. As soon as I put my hand in, she darts off with her tail vibrating. I’ve even tried slowly stroking her to let her know it’s me, but she completely freaks out and rattles her tail. It’s a shame cos once she’s out, she enjoys it. But seems to hate being scooped out of her viv. Any suggestions? Is this normal or is she just a moody girl?

Can we presume the snake isn’t in or going into shed mode when this occurs??

They’re all so different to be honest maybe just one of its ‘traits’

No she’s not going in, or in shed. Last shed was a week ago and nice full shed too.

They all have their own personalities, some are just more shy than others. This is pretty common behavior for young ones. She is old enough and probably has had enough time to settle in and she is comfortable with her viv. By going into her viv you are intruding on her space. Unlike a dog or cat, the slowly stroking her will do nothing to help settle her. I'd maybe start with putting something small of yours that smells like you in her viv. That way she can take her time, get use to your smell and start accepting your smell as part of her safe place. Then when you do go into her viv just put a flat hand low and in front of her so she can smell you.
