Since it has been a few days and no one has guessed: Can I ask what gene the breeder thought it might be? I can only think of one and it would be a long-shot at best. :)

I bought her as a normal 100% het clown. Her crazy pattern and such dark black made me question. 2 other breeders suggested that since she is het clown, that it does some crazy things to the pattern that could be the explanation. Had someone else suggest possible leopard, but my leopard is fire as well so the 2 side by side gives me nothing to compare.

Yeah, I think you are just seeing the Het Clown adjust the pattern.
Edges on my Leopards look softer to me-even with a bit of a busy pattern. Example below:
