Judy's Weightloss Journey

Day Five

The downside to posting first thing in the morning is that sometimes ya just feel tired and cranky. Really hard to motivate myself on such a morn, especially when self-motivation is not one of my strongest talents. But I'll try.

The kids are off to school, but my husband has the day off. He's still snugged up in bed. I think I may just have to go rejoin him. Later, we can go for a walk together. He hasn't been out on the golf course with me yet. Yesterday, instead of walking the course, I turned the other direction and headed out into horse country. Very beautiful, but ohmygosh...VERY HILLY! Which makes for really good exercise, but I was ohhhh so tired the rest of the day, with aching legs! Gotta watch out for other dogs out there, too. They're behind fences, but one group of dogs we encountered were awfully excited to see Mira and VERY bouncy/jumpy...and their fence wasn't particularly high or secure. I just turned away before we got too close to them. Mira is very friendly with other dogs, but not all other dogs are going to be friendly with her.

Poor Mira misses her playdates very much. In Florida, we had regular dates with a group of dogs that all got along really well. Have no idea how to hook up with something like that here, but I should start looking. Mira is such a social creature...she needs some four-legged playmates from time to time. There's a neighborhood cat here that she'd LOVE to be friends with, but the cat isn't too keen on the idea. Seriously, Mira loves cats as much as dogs, even though they confuse her terribly. She'd never hurt one, but they always get such an attitude around her.

Here she is trying to look guilty after disemboweling a pillow.

Anyhow...not much in the way of goals today that I haven't already discussed. Walk later with my hubby, hopefully. If that doesn't work out, I don't mind taking a day off, as I'm still really tired from yesterday's hike. And be conscious of my food choices.

See ya tomorrow...
