question on mothers after laying
I am just wondering if females loose a considerable amount of water in thier bodies that contributes to the weight loss when they lay thier eggs?
My girl was 1800 when bred, she was just over 2000g before she layed. Her eggs were 612g. I weighed her right after removing her eggs and claening her tub etc. she was 1100g. Sibve laing 3.5 weeks ago she has had 3 rats, And I must say her appetite is unreal. I just weighed her and she is already back up to 1600g. Im sure some of that is poop but still thats a huge gain in three weeks. I am happy she is recovering her wieght so well.
I am also curious if breeding them encourages thier body to have growth spurts. I hear about these 3000+ g females and am wondering if my girl may be on her way to becoming quite the heffer.
