    Rat HELP!! ASAP!

My female rat just had 15 babies. She just buried all of them, under alot of bedding. They are squeeking like crazy. What should I do? Is she just keeping this warm.

This is my first group of babies, and hers also, and she is by herself. Are they going to survive? Should i be worried, because I am freaking out!

Its normal dont worry Just let her do her thing. She will bury them n unbury them, move em from one side of the cage to the other. She'll proly even jump up and down on them from time to time but theyre fine. They know wat to do tho i was worried when i had my first litter but now they just keep coming

Oh, whew! I couldn't believe it. She gets a lot of attention, and she is such a mamma's girl. I thought she was pissed because we wouldn't get her out any more. I guess they really don't have a jealous gene.

    That's a big relief. Thanks!!

Someone needs to tell some of my little brats that. If I don't take them ALL out for playtime, you would not believe the looks and attitude I get from the ones left in the cage .

If the mother is used to being handled and you are really worried, you can check and make sure all the babies have milk bands. But burying and lots of squeaking is normal--that's why you can't use C02 to euthanize pinkies. They are hypoxia resistant so they can survive being buried under nesting material and under their littermates.

Good luck with them, baby rats are really fun to play with.
