    Custom Reptile Cages

Within the next year or so, probably sooner than that, I plan on moving Atticus (and Onyx, too) into a new cage. However, instead of pursuing a new aquarium, I was looking at the custom reptile cages over at Monster Cages and was curious to know if any of you could provide some input on which route to go, along with which web-site may be better to look at.

I don't foresee me needing or looking to invest in a rack system because I don't think I'll ever own more than 3-5 snakes (ha, I say that now, I know...), and from the looks of it, the custom built cages look stackable and easy to maintain.

What are the pro's and con's of owning cages like these? Is managing the temperature much easier? Do these custom built cages already come with a heat source installed into them or is that something I'll have to do myself?

Those prices are pretty good, but some seem to be more expensive then another site I had checked out awhile back. I will look to see if I still have the link and post it.

One is cagesbydesign, and the other is glasscages. Glass cages sponsors the local reptile expo in La.

It's hard not to be slightly overwhelmed by the amount of options available when it comes to housing a snake, but thank you guys for providing those links. Now it's just deciding which one to go with.

Now, for a ball, would something that is 36"-long work?

That looks pretty nice, and i'm sure it would be a good size for a bp. Just depending on the age of the bp.

    Re: Custom Reptile Cages

    Yeah, good point.

I think what I might look into is this:

    http://www.reptilebasics.com/images/D/d-16258-68.jpeg

It's 2x4 and has a divider in the middle with the option of adding built in heat. I already e-mailed Rich over at Reptile Basics and he did state that it is adequate for a ball-python to live in for it's entire life, plus the opportunity to temporarily house Onyx in the additional cage is more than convenient.

Has anyone had any experience with ordering for Reptile Basics?
