my Dwarf Centeral American Boa

Ok all you boa people out there I just got this little guy. They said he was 2 y.o and about 2 feet long. I think he is beautiful, he has a iridescent glow about him in the sun. They told me he was "nippy" but that is a laugh. Only when I moved to fast did he get upset. Take a guess what I paid for him.
They said he needed to be at 75-80, no mention of humidity, or hot/cold. ANY and ALL info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Depends on what locality he is - there are a lot of "locality" boas being sold that have untraceable lineage. Someone here recently posted he had a tarahumara boa which turned out to be a regular mexican boa.

As for him being nippy - time will tell. You haven't had him that long. Until he settles in, you really can't judge his temperament.

My tarahumara boa was a joy to handle when I removed him from his shipping container many years ago. He then proceeded to bite me for a good 6 weeks before he calmed down.

Well I am ready to handle him to tame him down if need be. He was only $25. They said he is 2 y.o so we will have to wait to see how big he gets. Can you send me a link or some info on how best to take care of him.

Again - husbandry requirements will vary a bit depending on locality.

For all intents and purposes, keep him under the same conditions as any other CA BCI.

I live in Eugene, Oregon. I have balls, corn snakes, Taiwan beauty snakes, and a black rat snake and a Texas rat snake. So I am no stranger to snakes but I never have even thought of owning a boa. This poor guy was a rescue because they where even afraid of feeding him because "he is nippy". Shoot-fire my Taiwan beauties ARE nippy, they will nail you every chance they get and make some chances (that is why they are my ROOMMATE'S snakes )
This guy was just scoping out the lay of the land, the only time he struck was when my big dufas of a dog came up and that was not his fault. I even let him crawl on my chest and looked him all over and he was cool with getting taken in and taken out of his cage. I think they didn't want this guy, he looks a bit thin, but again I am not sure how "fat" these guys are suppose to look.

How do you know he's a dwarf? Did they tell you who they bought him from and WHAT they bought him as?
