Is it RTBs or just F/T Eaters

Just fed my new RTB (BCI) for the first time, he was already on f/t so that's nice. But he decided to eat from his climbing tree rather than just on the ground... Looks hilarious. Is this normal for a RTB or just f/t eaters eat silly?

He has a dream of a feeding response. Introduced mouse, he grabbed and was happy.

I've had my BCI do some perched eating before. I was more worried that he was going to drop a large rat in the water dish and I would have to clean it up. You will come to find that your boa will try to go the shortest route from where they are to where the prey is, whether there's a climbing stick in the way or a locked cage door. With my limited experience with boas, they love to eat.

I was just going to throw the mouse in there since thats how they fed where I got him, he struck it right out of my hand. He just used the base of his climbing tree to hold it so he could scarf it down.

You can try to do that, I was trying with my boas to try and get them to be calmer but most of mine smell the food and it is game on. Pull out tub and I've already got them coming up to try and get ahold of the feeder lol. I've found my boas to be trash compactors and yours is probably the exact same way.

Some boas in general can be lazy feeders. I've seen some that will only eat if you put the food in front of them, you keep it behind them and they'll never turn around. I wouldn't stress it much at all as long as he's eating.

I need to go check out Emperor. I haven't seen him in a while or the little ones. Yeah its fun when they get it in their mouths. I spent many hours of my life cleaning substrate out of angry snakes mouths. Not a problem anymore though.
