    Eggs Denting??

Two of my six eggs have big "dents" in them as of this morning. The other four look fine, except one has a yellow spot the size of a dime. Is this normal? They were laid August 1, in the morning. The normal looking ones are full and round and perfect looking. The two dented ones feel like if I were to lift them, they would break, so of course I am not going to touch them anymore. They have not gone yellow, and they are all large/the same size. I tried taking photos, but the flash whites out the eggs and you cannot see the denting I speak of.

How far into incubation are they? It's normal for them to dent in for the last week or two.

    Needs more humidity.

They dent as they lose moisture. What did you use for substrate?

vermaculite, sorry bad typing, baby is helping me

They are in a small cooler converted incubator in vermaculite moistened as instructed, clumping, and I have moist rags around the contain they are in (not on it directly) to keep humidity up. Tips? can I mist the eggs?

Did you use the Glad Press n Seal?

You can mist, but you are not supposed to mist the eggs directly. If you do mist, let the spray bottle sit in the incubator before misting so its the same temperature

You can't see anything without the flash

But I will see what I can do when this storm passes and there is some natural light in there.

    Re: Eggs Denting??

The two still have one large dent each on top, and now have some spots on them, so I think they're no good. The other four look fine, three of them are especially large and good looking.
