    SnakeBytesTV-Pythons

Are all Pythons the huge killers that they are made out to be in the press?? Are things always what they appear to be or do we over react to situations?? We'll cover these topics is this weeks show. To watch just go to: www.youtube.com/snakebytestv please comment, rate and don't forget to subscribe! We always appreciate the support for the show. Great episode brian. I sent it to my snake fearing mom who does think that all pythons are killers. Hopefully this will shed a bit of light on the subject for her.

I,m not computer savy enough to do it, but everyone on the forum could send this episode to all their friends on their e-mail list. Who might forward it to others etc... get the point?

I appreciate that kind of support. We need to somehow keep trying to get the word out to people that these snakes are not evil and killers. We're fighting a uphill battle, but I swear I spend most of my waking hours thinking of ways to change minds, sometimes one person at a time. I'm open to any ideas from anyone that will help in the process. Huge thanks! Brian(BHB)

    Re: SnakeBytesTV-Pythons

Get them through the kids. I do educational programs with snakes, and at all of them there are at least a few parents/grandparents that were obviously dragged their by their kids and have no desire at all to be there. They sit as far back as they can get, and don't look very pleased. By the end of the presentation, mostly all of them are usually comfortable enough to come up and at least touch one of the animals.

Not too mention the kids themselves. A fear of snakes is created by society. Teach them that snakes are cool and interesting when they're young with hands-on experience, and they'll be alot less likely to fear or hate them as adults.

I don't think you can ever really change people's negative attitutes just through a message...because they're alot more likely to see the negative ones that you find in the news and use those rare cases as proof against what you're saying.
But we can try. I think today's generation is better about it than my grandparent's, so hopefully over time the trend will continue towards acceptance.

thanks brian that was fun to watch.

i think its great what you do for the herp world. although if i had one criticism in general about the program it'd be to just show more snakes.. spend more time on the snakes.. .. lol and information.

ive watched every single one of viperkeepers video's 'coz theyre just 100% snakes and info and opinion on the snakes and info.

anyway, you do waht you do and he does what he does. i appreciate your videos none-the-less.

    thanks
