    What the...

Ok so I bought aspen from a local breeder it was weird on what it said its was from the company called lm animal farms. I was watching my ball move around and I saw this weird thing in its cage i thought it was a leaf or something and I went to grab it and it moved I freaked lol. What is it? Their was a dead bug in it before but like old so I didn't think much of it. Every time I try to use actual substrate bugs keep coming. Heres the picture anyone know what it is?

Yuck, that thing looks disgusting and huge! I have no idea what it is, but I would definitely have a talk with who you buy your substrate from!

Woah, that's nasty. Not any snake parasite I've ever seen. Maybe try throwing your substrate in the freezer for a few days before putting it in the enclosure.

Its a meal worm larva. Its the cocoon stage and then it turns into a big beetle.

Edit: BTW I have the same SD cards! Woot?

I knew that seemed familiar.. I was going to say a mealworm turning into a beetle but I wasn't so sure. My first thought was a freshly molted cockroach but I guess I was wrong lol.

If it is a meal worm larva you can keep using it (that is what it looks like to me too) just make sure there are no more in there. But if you want to be safe then trash it all and get some new stuff.
