Question Another hide "problem" with the BP.

Just saying another hide problem because someone is facing the same thing, but here is the problem I'm having. For the past, oh, 3-4 or 5 days my female BP is staying on the cooler end of the enclosure. There was no hide there before, so I bought this vine plant (a while ago though, I just moved it to the cooler end where there was only a water dish) and it was normally packaged all together in like a circular form and your supposed to stretch it out and put it around the enclosure if you know what I'm talking about. Anywho, I put the plant on the cooler end (didn't spread it out, kept it together) and the day I did that my BP went right over and hid under it. Though, yesterday she went in her warm hide for an hour or so, then went back to the plant. My temps stay between 89F-93F (89F usually in the morning, 93F by late afternoon) and the humidity stays between 50%-60% (mainly around 55%). So, maybe she prefers the plants over the rock formation hide? I'm not really concerned, but more like confused because she always loved the warm side. At night she just runs around too. Maybe it has something to do with the new bulb I purchased (75 watt infrared heat bulb and before had a 60 watt basking bulb)?

I'm guessing she finds it more secure than your hide, which isn't a good thing. The hide should hug her on all sides, including the top. Do you have a pic of the hide with her in it for size reference?

Tomorrow, when I get pics of the Hog, I will get pics of her enclosure and if you want to see the size of her too I'll take some shots of her. I need some more pics of her anyway, she's getting huge and really thick.

You should have two matching hides for your BP to choose from.

Yes I know, and I will get a similar hide soon. For now, I'm using the decor plant just so she has something on the cooler end.

Awesome, it is, oh, just a waiting game now! In the mean time, have any recent pics of it?

I do have a pic of her enclosure before I switched it around and when I had Cypress as the substrate. Though, in that picture, she's smaller than she is now. She's getting bigger each day it seems like. Or do you want a pic of only her? I do happen to have a pic I took a few weeks ago. Or both the enclosure and the snake?

    Hides aren't required in tubs.
In tanks, not such a smart move.
