    Head Wobble

I know that head wobble is very common in spider ball pythons and any spider morphs, but I heard it also can come and go due to stress, hunger, etc. If a juvenile ball is showing head wobble, does it usually worsen as it matures? Or does it get better as the snake gets older? Thanks!

    Re: Head Wobble

Stress is a fctor I have witnessed first hand with an arrival of a male Spider. His first feed he twirled all around and swallowed the rat from his back but once he settle in for a week or so he don't eat that way anymore at all. He is fairly normal so to speak in the feeding department but still has a pretty bad corkscrew. He does miss strikes due to the wobble and has even gotten my finger on a miss cause he strikes like sideways. As far as getting better with age and weight, I was told it entirely depends on the snake and how extreme the wobble is. But I may be wrong and hope to be for my spiders sake!! I hope he gets better as he grows and gains weight!

We have 3 adult breeder males and only 1 of them shows any sign of the wobble, and that is only at feeding time.

    Re: Head Wobble

I named my wobbly spider peek after the rain man (Kim Peek) who was also unique

my spider has a serious wobble, but he's the best feeder i have.. he's awesome!!!!

Does anybody breed wobbly spiders and does anyone know if the wobble is hereditory?

I call mine "retarded" too but you know what i love her because that wobble gives her character. I sometimes sit there and watch her act "retarded" for 20 minutes or so and find it incredibly amusing
