If they fully absorbed their yolk I do not consider assisting them before at least week number 8. (Of course you need to observe them)

Some BP will eat 24 hours after their first shed most but most often they will eat about a week after their first shed, and for some it can take longer.

    This might help you http://www.8ballpythons.com/journal/...ingseating.htm

Make sure you are using the right size prey item and also do not be affraid to leave it in the tub for 24 hours. A pinkie can't hurt a hatchling.

Make sure they are in a small tub with a hide and proper heat/humidity. Then I would offer a live fuzzy mouse or very small live hopper mouse.

    Pinky Mice or Rats?

You'll have the best luck with live hopper mice!

I'd go with live. It's the rare hatchling that will take F/T for their first meal.

I'm assuming these are pinky rats, not mice?

I actually have been starting all of mine off on live hopper ASF's, and then switch them over to rats after a few meals. In my experience, they're switching the first time they're offered something else.
