    How many clutches...

Okay so I know that leos can lay a bunch of clutches each year. My question pertains to how many clutches can female leos develop and lay once they've been serperated from a male.

The reason for this question is that I recently serperated my male from my 2 females almost a month ago. Both my females laid a clutch a few days after being serperated and I thought this was fair to give them a rest. But they have both laid 2 more clutches since then. I understand that they can retain sperm yada yada, but I'm just curious as to how many clutches they can lay from one copulation session.

    Thanks ahead for any input.

btw..the eggs are fertile and the oldest clutch is 6 weeks old

Generally, if the girl is kept with proper calcium intake, she could lay 8 clutches of 2 eggs.

    Re: How many clutches...

I understand they can lay that many clutches but what I'm wondering is can this be from only one copulation session?

They have already had 5 clutches (3 while housed with the male) but I had observed copulation a couple times. And they both are showing signs of another clutch; so that will be 3 clutches since being seperated from the male.

Yeah. Like you said, they store sperm to fertilze throughout the season.
