Help escaped pythons

I have 2 hatchling pythons that I have discovered tonight have escaped, they were both fed and cleaned out last night but have been to check on them tonight and discovered they have both escaped, i can only presume they have got out between the glass which I fine hard to believe.

Anyway has anyone got any tips on how I may find them, tom is feeding night so hoping the smell of defrosting mice might entice them out but not sure how many days they have been out for.

Also silly question the biggest one weighs about 290g and I am now very worried about my kitten that I have in the house she is about 6 months old do you think it could harm her.

if anything the kitten will harm the snake. of course you try the rat smell thats a good idea and check under every piece of furniture possible .. im sorry i hope you find them

Another reason not to house snakes together. Multiple housing also equals multiple escapees. Single housing equals only one snake escaping and therefore only one snake to hopefully find alive.

More then likely they both are with in 5 feet of where they got out at. Check in and under everything. Some times scenting the room helps, but you'll probably find them before that works. Best of luck! Please let this be a lesson learned. House them in separate tubs/tanks!

I successfully captured my female when she escaped using this method: What do you is get an empty 2-litre bottle of coka cola or sprite or whatever. Cut away the part with the thread where the cap goes on, and make a hole so it's a little bigger than the width of the snake. Then take a piece of stiff paper, thin cardboard maybe, cut out a rectangle of that and roll it into a cone shape, which you will tape so the skinny part is inside the bottle (so that when the snake goes in it's not easy to get back out). Make it bigger than you think you need so that you can trim it to fit later. You might want to cut the tip part into strips to make it easier to get through going in. If you've ever seen a bee trap, they use this sort of a trick in those. Put a dead mouse in there, cover the whole thing with a towel, and put it in a dark spot where the snake is likely to want to hide. You might want to make a few to increase your chances.

You might also want to put flour (if you have hard floors) and/or plastic bags from the supermarket around the edges of the floor. They like to move along walls and when they do, the plastic will make noise and the flour will leave a trail. I hope you catch them :-)

The cat is most likely to harm the snakes, so it's the snakes you will lose instead of the cat becoming injured.

Check the entire room the escaped in, and keep the door closed in case they are still in the room so they will not escape from the room. Check in every small and warm place. Everywhere. Even the places you don't expect them to fit into/be in. Snakes like to crunch themselves in small places so you are more likely to find them in small places where you think they cannot fit into. Trust me, they can. Good luck, hope you find them.

If it's not to much sprinkle baby powder around and make sure that the door is closed andput a towel up so it doesn't exit the room.

Forgot to say it's to see the tracks across the floor. Then u can sweep or vacume it up.

good news one has turned up tonight, we have been out for the evening so the house was left in darkness, when we returned I nipped to the loo only to be greated by on eof the snakes climbing up the toilet brush.

Have put her back in the viv and put the rolled up paper back between the glass so will leave her for the night and give her some food tomorrow.

Will try the drink bottle tom and hopefully it will entice the other one out as well.
