    not eating?

I have a baby mojo who hasnt eaten since 4/30, Ive been keeping track of her weight and shes is down to 230g from 240g during this time frame. Husbandry should be ok as she is in a rack system and the others are eating fine. Also she seems healthy when I handle her, flicks tounge, is pretty active, no visible mouth issues. I usually dont stress adult non eaters but Im a little worried since she is a baby. Any suggestions? When should I be really worried?

A 10g drop is basically nothing to worry about.

Are you offering the snake two hides? Sometimes they can be shy and stop eating even when they are set up exactly the same as other snakes. Each snake is different.

Maybe you could put some crumpled up newspaper in the tub (fill it all the way up) and then offer food in the dead of night and turn off all the lights and leave the room.

she is in a small tub with one hide. Ive had crumpled newspaper in her tub for a few weeks now. Also when I scent the room she seems interested, and pokes her head out but hides from live mice and shows no interest in frozen.

:/ You could try shoving another hide in there if you can, worth a try. There isn't really a reason for a snake that small to go off feed.

Your snake can go without eating for a month or 2 trust me i been through it. Sometimes ball pythons are stubborn or either really stressed so i would just leave it alone for 4 to 6 days only checking the water and try again on its regular feeding day.1 thing i learned with ball pythons is patience lol if anything it might be parasites so take it to the vet

    Re: not eating?

What are your temps? If they are low, such as 90/80, try bumping up 5 degrees. 95 warm side, 85 ambient. I keep my temps like this all the time(no finicky eaters either).

What size tub is she in? Anything bigger than a 6qt and I'd bump her down to the shoebox. You can always cover the front of the tub with a black pillowcase.

Also, pre-scent the room when you feed for at least 30 minutes. Try a live hopper mouse and leave it in for a few hours. Make sure she's covered up and the room is dark.

    Re: not eating?

My little one just recently became shy... so I heat up the F/T and then leave it in the tank for a few hours and leave him alone with his dinner... so far he eats every time

    Re: not eating?

If your other snakes are fine, I think you'll just have to play the waiting game. Throw another hide in there like members have already suggested.

My 900g female has been fasting since mid April as well. She's lost about 85g so I took her to the vet. Exotics specialist said she looks healthy as ever and no parasites... So again, just gotta play the waiting game and keep offering food once a week.

    Re: not eating?

She is still not eating and is down to 210g. She looks a little skinny but other than that appears to be completely healthy.... to me anyway. Ive tried everything suggested here and then some, and I only offer food once a week. Any other suggestions or is it time for a vet visit?

    Re: not eating?

How are you trying to feed her? Are you leaving a live hopper in the tub with her at night for a couple hours while you go away? At first mine wouldn't eat if I was anywhere near her. If you do leave the hopper in there for a few hours make sure you put some food for the mouse in there so it doesn't start seeing the snake as a food source.
