Well I didn't want to derail Trey's thread about his interview but I did want to open a discussion about how folks feel about what we see on the news.

Here's my opinion (anyone surprised that I have one LOL).....

I'm not surprised that any of the news channels would act up over this issue about snakes.

News has become more about entertainment and shock value then presenting information and allowing the public to form their own opinion. Apparently we need an opinon spoonfed to us 24 hours a day from what I see from any of the major news channels or my local evening news. Quite honestly I'm sick of it! I don't want an anchor to entertain me. I want him or her to state the facts and keep their opinions to themselves! They can also keep their so called "experts" that they seem to dig up from gawd knows where who either do nothing more than state the obvious or make such wild and unfounded assertations that you just want to smack them stupid (wouldn't need to be a hard smack for some of them).

Oh and they can fire the entire department of people whose job it seems is to come up with those stupid names and the attendent big splashy banners for every event under the sun that happens. If my neighbourhood goes up in flames I think it's bloody well disrespectful to see a big rolling banner with NEIGHBOURHOOD BLAZE OF DOOM 2009!!!! splashed all over the news coverage.

Personally I think the worst thing that ever happened to tv news is the 24 hour news channels. I swear half the time they are making stuff up just to fill in the time and the other half of the time they are trying to figure out how to make a 2 minute piece of news into a 2 hours news "event".

Oh sorry a bit of a vent there. :oops
